Jesse Maanao
Jesse Maanao has practiced law since 2001 and practices exclusively in Immigration law. Mr. Maanao is a member of the Oregon State Bar, Washington State Bar Association, American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and the Oregon Chapter of AILA. Mr. Maanao currently serves on the Immigration Legal Committee for Catholic Charities in Portland. He has served as the Chapter Liaison between the Oregon Chapter of AILA and the Portland, Oregon Immigration Court.
Mr. Maanao is a graduate of the Seattle University School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from Seattle University. Mr. Maanao frequently advises clients on business Immigration issues, as well as handles deportation and removal litigation cases, including Immigration bond cases at the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma and other Detention Centers.
Mr. Maanao’s Immigration law experience also includes several years of federal service in the U.S. Department of Justice as a District Adjudications Officer with the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS). After the closing of INS in 2003 and with the creation of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that same year, Mr. Maanao transferred from the Department of Justice to the Department of Homeland Security to serve several more years as an Adjudications Officer with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). |
